Guided Wildlife Kayaking Experience

Paddle around the spectacular Kaikōura Peninsula and get up close to New Zealand fur seals in their natural environment. Take in the dramatic mountains and rugged coastline while keeping watch for dusky dolphins, whales, little blue penguins and a variety of seabirds.

Allow approximately 3 hours from arrival at our base to farewell. Your experience includes a short briefing, transport, getting kitted out, all kayaking equipment, paddling instruction and a comprehensive safety briefing. You will spend approximately 1.5–2 hours on the water with an qualified guide sharing their knowledge of Kaikōura's history, marine environment and wildlife.

No previous kayaking experience is required and the tour operates year-round. Our stable enclosed double sea kayaks and provided clothing and equipment help keep you comfortable throughout the experience.

Wildlife encounters are natural and can vary from day to day. Seal viewing is guaranteed, while dolphins, whales, and different bird species may also be encountered depending on the day, conditions and season.
