Our highly stable sea kayaks allow children to safely enjoy the kayaking experience with an adult paddling right behind them.

Enjoy paddling around Kaikōura's aquatic wonderland at a leisurely pace taking in the views and enjoying the thrill of getting right up close to New Zealand's marine life.

Our professionally qualified guides will be right beside you in your watertight kayaks as your family take snaps of playful New Zealand Fur Seals with an awesome backdrop of mountain views, craggy rocks and sheer cliff faces.

We can tailor your trip to suit your specific family needs and your guide will ensure your kayaking tour around the Kaikōura Peninsula is exceptionally safe, highly memorable and great fun.

Paddling time is approximately 1.5 to 2 hours.

A short briefing at the start of your tour covers gearing up, learning how to paddle and steer your kayak and covers our safety guidelines.

Our recommendation: The morning tour's usually have the calmest sea conditions and the best interactions with marine life.

The 8.30am or 12:30pm departures are recommended for our family fun tours, we guarantee your kids will love it! 

Children are defined as 12yrs and under, with a minimum participation age of 3 years.

 This was one of the best experiences of my life...we were lucky but got to see more than 200 dolphins swimming n flipping around us...I can't upload videos to actually show what we saw but it was mesmerizing... Kayaks are super quality. The Kaikōura kayak staff is very well trained and equipped. We were a group of 4 adults and 1 kid, and we all had a blast.. weather and sea conditions everything was on our side this particular day... Morning 830 slot, month of March 2026.
